Saadhna and Living ideal

Spiritual sadhna is not sitting in front of a frame and doing bhajan kirtan as we normally do. According to Shri Shri Thakur bhajan involves active service through unrepelling adherence to one’s Ideal, and for that the Ideal needs to be living. The more we work on His commands the more our perceptions become clearer, through which the real Gyaan starts blossoming. This is the easy way (bhaktimaarg) of spiritual Sadhna that Shri Shri Thakur has urged us to do just like Shri Ramakrishna Paramhans. Find a Living guru / acharya, stay attached to Him, serve Him, love Him and enjoy the bliss.

Without a living guide we can perhaps sit in a room and start the rigorous “Soham” (I am He) sadhna like Shri Shankaracharya but it is not only difficult but dangerous too. Both Shri Ramakrishna Paramhans and Shri Shri Thakur has warned us against it.

It is very important to note that the “Acharya” Shri Shri Thakur has talked about should himself be a realised man. He should have won over all his complexes and thus a source of solved knowledge. Such a man, in absence of Shri Shri Thakur, should definitely be our living guide. He will be the one who will guide us in our sadhna through active instructions. Please refer to Glowing go of life (Vol II) for detailed criteria laid out by Shri Shri Thakur on who can be an “Acharya”.

Last but not the least, all Sadgurus, Acharyas or living ideals converge inside the present Advent, the materialised manifestation of the Supreme soul. And if a Sadguru is a real Sadguru He will definitely know about this. That is why when Kishorida (one of Shri Shri Thakur’s first few disciples) went to a Sadguru, he was directed back to Shri Shri Thakur.
